Katie Gould

Senior Transfusion Scientist - Australian Red Cross Lifeblood

Professional Bio

Katie Gould joined Lifeblood in late 2018 as a Senior Transfusion Scientist, prior to which she was a multi-skilled scientist with Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology (SNP) for close to 11 years, based at the Wesley Hospital in Brisbane.
She completed her Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science at James Cook University in 2007, and has since gone on to complete a Graduate Certificate in Transfusion Practice (University of Melbourne, 2013) and a Masters in International Public Health (University of Queensland, 2018).
During her time with SNP, Katie coordinated the continuing education program for scientific staff as well as supervised clinical placement students.
Katie has also volunteered with medical not-for-profit organisation Mercy Ships in Republic of Congo (2013) and in Madagascar (2016). It was during these field services that she gained insight into the importance of public health, education and medical capacity building programs.
